Rehabilitation International Finnish Committee

- Expert of rehabilitation in Finland and world-wide

RIFI ry is a member of the international umbrella organisation for rehabilitation Rehabilitation International (RI). RIFI is comprised of both client- and service provider-organisations and other important rehabilitation organisations. RIFI has 30 member organisations.  

RIFI ry connects it´s member organisations to international cooperation on a national level in order to ensure coequal participation opportunities for it´s members. RIFI also acts as a trend-setter for the rehabilitation field in Finland.

Rehabilitation International (RI) is a world-wide network for rehabilitation, with members from the disability organisations, service providers, researchers and public authorities.

Mission

RIFI´s mission is to
- follow developments in the field of rehabilitation, both in Finland and abroad
- keep in touch with Finnish and international actors in the field, covering all disability groups and rehabilitation sectors
- inform the public about it´s activities and exchange information
- organise events and seminars related to rehabilitation

Representatives of RIFI participate in RI´s commissions and work.

Decisive power in RIFI is held by the organisation´s council which meets annually. RIFI´s board runs the organisation and it´s elected every second year.

Majority of the work is done on a voluntary basis. The activities are funded by membership fees.

Finnish Committee of Rehabilitation was founded in 1950. The name RIFI was adopted in 1984.
